Doll skin texture. Master's advice.

How to make skin texture for large realistic dolls. Advice from the master.
Hello everyone
People often ask me how do you make the texture of the skin for your large works?
I decided to share with you, friends, my method (in fact, it is the most common among sculptors) of applying pores and micro-wrinkles on the face of the work.
Everything is used, from toothpicks, needles to toothbrushes. Anything that leaves the desired imprint in one place or another of the face is suitable. I advise you to upload a lot of face photos in FUL HD quality or 4K Ultra HD.
Look at different facial textures. Different areas of the face have different textures, the pores in the nasolabial area are very different from the texture of the forehead or on the edges of the cheeks around the ears. Plus, one transitions into the other. Notice how this transition happens from one area to another. It's better to take people with more mature skin in their 30s, 40s and 50s. It's not "sultana" there yet, but it's not the porcelain smoothness of adolescence either. It's harder with older people, because behind every crease there's a story. Anyone can throw wrinkles from the ceiling, but it will be very noticeable. Plus, with quite large deep wrinkles in older people, there's also a lot of open pores that deform to one side or the other, and that's a separate difficulty. It's just wrinkles, without pores, that's not the same.
Apparently this is why serious masters like to depict elderly people, they are more difficult and more interesting :))) Some sculptors make texture blanks by removing silicone layers from the skin of animals and mixing them depending on the area of the body. But I am still for manual work inside and out. Since all my favorite mastodon sculptures are also done by hand
If your desire to study sculpture is as great as mine, and realism is just as interesting to you, then arm yourself with photographs and sit down to try on a doll. It will get better and better every timeGood luck!
Yours, Ulyana Luan.
Amazing! It's all about thinking outside the box and experimenting. That is the very meaning of the simple word - creativity. Thanks to the author!
