"The Lady with the Unicorn" - famous work of the High Renaissance, 1506.
⠀ The main features of this portrait are the graceful grace and enigmatic character of a mysterious lady. In her hands she holds a small unicorn - a symbol of purity.
⠀
This painting has a mysterious and amazing story!
Earlier she was called “Saint Catherine”, she wore a mantle on her shoulders, and in her hands a palm branch.
⠀
Whoever was not credited with the authorship. And only at the beginning of the 20th century, during the restoration, the real author was identified - this is Rafael Santi.
⠀
After removing the top layer of paint in the 30s of the last century, Saint Catherine turned into a sweet gentle girl with a unicorn in her arms, which we see today.
⠀
In the 1950s, "The Lady with the Unicorn" became the first painting in history to be studied using x-rays. And it turned out that the unicorn was a dog at first!
⠀
Then another riddle followed. Who is depicted in this picture? Disputes are still ongoing ...

“Divine Music of Cecilia”. The work was created in the Renaissance style.
This unique cultural Epoch (14-16 centuries) is the beginning of the New Age. A time of extraordinary flourishing of all types of science and art: painting, sculpture, poetry, music.
⠀
Music reflects harmony. It sounded everywhere then. In their works, composers talked about everything that occurs in life, but most importantly, they sang beauty.
⠀
During the Renaissance, female beauty acquired its own canons and ideals. Girls of tall stature with wide shoulders and a thin waist, noble movements and a stately figure have become fashionable. The clothes emphasized femininity: deep neckline, bright colors, saturation with patterns and gold embroidery.
⠀
It was Italians who invented the fashion for blondes during the High Renaissance. Then they began to appreciate thick, delicate wavy hair with a touch of gold and copper. It has become fashionable to weave pearl threads and nets into the hairstyle.

Masks, carnival, Venice!
These are three words that make us imagine a wonderful holiday. What is the secret of the mask, and how is it related to the carnival?
⠀
Masks were used in everyday life to hide the face. It served a wide variety of purposes, from romantic dates to committing crimes. In addition, masks played a very important social role - they made everyone who wore them equal.
⠀
The carnival mask is the quintessence of the Venetian spirit, combining both innocent fun and human sins.
⠀
The Venice Carnival is a holiday that is born as a result of the nullification of social classes and equality. One cannot fail to note the joy with beauty, which are reflected in the antique dresses and handmade masks that adorn the Venetian streets during the carnival.
