According to the observations of psychologists, doctors and parents, the doll helps the child to recover.

It has been proven that playing with a doll develops memory, natural abilities, speech and imagination. Through the doll, the child is freed from his negative emotions.

It is not for nothing that at present there are many master classes with children on creating a doll. Along with ordinary children, children with special needs learn to make a doll.

A doll is a toy with which children play life.

In boarding schools for deaf-blind children, one cannot do without a doll at all. The teachers of the Zagorsk (now Sergiev-Posad) orphanage, with the help of dolls, help special children fill their lives with events, help to communicate with the outside world, to adapt in it.

Through the doll, teachers teach their little pupils to overcome difficulties, instill socialization skills, wash, comb, brush their teeth, eat.

One of the pupils of the Sergiev Posad boarding school became a sculptor. But it all started with a doll!

At the beginning of the last century, dolls were used to treat neuroses, bronchial asthma, stuttering, and to restore the musculoskeletal system.

Psychologist Sigmund Freud described such a protective mechanism as relieving the mental stress of a child. The favorite game of children is the doctor and the patient. If the toy is sick, the child treats it until it recovers completely.

The great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky wrote his Children's Album, which includes the play The Doll's Illness. (It is not entirely clear why Tchaikovsky buries the doll (the play "The funeral of the doll" follows "Illness ...") But, after the sadness comes joy (the play "The New Doll). Different aspects of life are reflected in the beautiful music with the direct participation of the doll.

Art doll.

Unlike play, the creation of an art doll is a healing tool for masters and connoisseurs. Many artists notice that dolls not only reflect the author's inner world, they change their worldview, spiritually enrich, and get rid of current problems. Creativity becomes the artist's way of life.

I have not yet mentioned the famous ancient Greek myth of Pygmalion and Galatea.

In ancient times, the sculptor fell in love, without memory, with the statue of the beautiful woman Galatea created by him, similar to the Goddess of love Aphrodite. Pygmalion, having put his whole soul into the statue, was exhausted from love, and the sculpture came to life.

And at present, creativity saves people from loneliness, heals the soul.

According to the stories of my mother, who had been working in the hospital for many years, a “special” girl of 15 years old was brought to the intensive care unit, in the literal sense of the word, who did not want to live. When, after the medical procedures, she opened her eyes, she received as a gift, from the nurse, a doll in a beautiful ball gown.

Exactly one month later, the girl visited the doctors and presented the department with a beautiful doll, made by her own hands. She shone with joy and happiness! The girl developed a beautiful hobby that brought her back to life.

Another example showing that creating a designer doll is a cure for depression. My friend Zhanna has been ill since childhood.

After undergoing surgery and meeting the artist, Zhanna was eager to create dolls. Now her life has changed dramatically, it has become rich and interesting.

Have you noticed that an aura of goodness and light hovers around the puppeteer artists? The joy of creativity, when beauty is born from a handful of materials, is incomparable with anything!  

It is better to create in a good mood and good mood, then the healing power of the doll is higher. The presence of such a doll in the house fills it with good energy, brings a smile and pleases its owner.

Art therapist V.L. Kokorenko said: "A person creates a doll not so much from the available materials, but from his inner world, his desires, fantasies, his past, present and even, possibly, the future (a kind of dream come true)."
