Master Class Doll from Flumo. Part 2
In this video I will show you the process of painting doll parts and creating the craquelure effect.
Before starting painting, to give a smooth surface, I grind the details of the doll. Then I cover it with a spray varnish. After the varnish has dried, we can start painting.
- For the first layer of tinting, I use dry pastels. Fix the tinting layer with varnish.
- At the second stage, I apply acrylic paints (whites of the eyes, lips, iris, eyebrows and eyelashes).
- In the third stage, I work with oil paints (I use a thinner for oil paints).
Now you can create the craquelure effect.
- I put shellac varnish on the doll's parts.
- After drying, after about an hour, I apply a thin layer of craquelure varnish. I don’t varnish the pupa’s eyes.
- To manifest the resulting cracks, using a sponge, I drive in brown oil paint. You can use pastels.
- I cover the finishing layer with shellac varnish.
The result is the effect of aged porcelain.
Enjoy your creativity!
