This percussion instrument, although a toy, but sounds. I used natural leather as a membrane.

For work we need:

-small jar of chips;

- medium density cardboard, a piece of white leather or a substitute;

- glue "Moment-crystal", 2 beads, 2 wooden skewers;

-scissors, measuring tape, pencil;

-acrylic and oil paints, brush, foam sponge;

- awl, matte varnish, nippers;

-thin satin ribbon, white iris thread;

• Take a jar of chips, draw a circle and cut out a circle from cardboard and leather. Glue the circle on top and turn the jar over.
• Cut off 2 cardboard strips with a length equal to the circumference of the can and 1 cm wide. Leave a 0.7 cm allowance for gluing!

• Paint the jar, cardboard strips and bottoms with a thick layer of white acrylic.

• Gold paint and paint the bottom of the jar along with the rim.

• We paint strips of cardboard - the upper part is red, the lower one is golden. We glue a satin ribbon for decoration.

• Paint the sides of the drum with blue acrylic paint and dry.
• We make uniform holes with an awl for pulling the iris thread. 
• We glue a leather circle on the top of the jar and tint it with oil paint. It is enough to mix a drop of brown and yellow colors, dip your finger in the paint and simply stain the skin of the simulated membrane.

• We glue the strips around the circumference of the upper and lower parts of the drum, observing the frequency of the holes for pulling the thread.

• We stretch the thread along the drum, fix it. We tie it across, along the "X" -shaped centers for basting. We connect the satin ribbon over the line of the outlined thread and, fixing it with glue.

• Lightly tint the blue color of the drum with white acrylic. We collect a little color on the foam rubber, shade it to an almost dry state and apply it to the sides of the drum with light movements. Visual volume is created.

• To fasten the drum belt, we take any fittings through which a satin ribbon will be threaded.

Making drum sticks.

Take the skewers, put the beads on the edge greased with glue, fix and dry. Remove sharp edges and sandpaper. Paint the resulting sticks with acrylic paint. We tint them slightly with a lighter paint.

Our drum is ready! You can tap the fraction!
