When working with textile dolls, the hardest part is creating beautiful hands. All craftsmen know that it is not easy to make delicate fingers out of fabric and turn them out neatly. I want to share with you the process of creating such hands. I think many people may find this information useful.
Draw a sketch of our future pen. The fingers are about 4mm wide (I use a 2mm tube for the evert).
Cut out the parts, each finger separately.
Transfer the pattern to the fabric (it must be non-friable, linen is not suitable, it will be hard to turn out). I used dyed calico.
Sew the toes together using a single thread (back stitch).
Apply PVA glue to the seams or a universal adhesive, "Moment Crystal", to reinforce the fabric when turning it out.
Cut out the parts. Leave an allowance of about 1 mm at the toes.
I use a wooden skewer to turn it out. You can use a toothpick with the tip cut off and a 2 mm tube.
Slip the tube through the finger, then use a skewer on top to push the fabric inwards, being careful not to tear it.
After turning out all the toes, take thin wire, synthetic fibre and glue stick.
Screw the synthetic wool onto the wire with pencil glue. The result is a sausage like this.
Fit these sausages into the fingers and trim off the excess.
Place the fingers on the palms of the hands. Sew with thread to hold it in place. Cover with the other half of the brush part.
Sew the palm together. Carefully turn it out and sew on the thumb.
That's a neat brush we've got here.
Enjoy your creativity!
