Peggy Abrams Christmas souvenir toys
New Year's Eve souvenir toys based on traditional designs are recognised as World Heritage of Humanity by the international organisation UNESCO.
These days in many cities around the world, New Year and Christmas fairs open with nativity figurines, Santa Claus in the national dress of his country and region of origin, as well as sweet gingerbread, lollipops and... the kind smiles of passers-by.
In the final weeks of the passing year, we look forward, as does everyone else, to good changes and with hope for the future!
Peggy Abrams' talent for drawing was evident from an early age. Peggy's mother always said that her daughter was born with a pencil in her hand instead of a rattle.
Peggy grew up in a farming family in Michigan. Her family loved her so much that they spared no expense in teaching her to paint. "My mother kept old wallpaper and cereal boxes of my childhood drawings all her life.
As a young girl Peggy was inspired by an old favourite porcelain doll in lace clothes and a big hat, as if it had come from Victorian painters' canvases. Later, at painting school, Peggy became fascinated by collecting postcards with masquerade costumes and elegant ladies.
But Peggy's popularity came from images of Father Christmas.
