Italian ceramic sculptor Michele Fabbricatore creates with his imagination and skill amazing pictures of light and pure worlds. They seem to resurrect the times of biblical values and give us, the author's contemporaries, visible evidence of beauty and harmony. It sustains and gives hope that the world is just the way it is and nothing will change it!
In my work I express what I love most: literature, mythology, fairy tale and admiration for nature. I think of art as a means of conveying a poetic and dreamlike world with a touch of irony. My aim is to talk about positive values that can stimulate the search for the "best part of us".
My mission is to retrieve the most authentic and untouched part of the child in myself, unaffected by outside influences, the part that looks at the world with amazed and delighted eyes. Revive that gift of enchantment, basic to beauty. To serve this treasure we all hold within is my life's desire and task, and I hope my work will always pass on their value to others. In my works I combine everything I like, that attracts me: from Calvino's "Roland the Impious", to mythological tales, all of which I interpret and revise from a surrealist position.
