Workshop. A Christmas nativity scene.
The brightest holiday of the year, Christmas, is about to knock on our doors, and we prepare its meeting with excitement and expectation of a miracle. In order to fulfil our expectations we need to create a symbol of Christmas: traditional decorations in the form of a star, as well as a nativity scene with a manger, decoration and figures.
There is a wonderful old tradition of putting a creche in the house on Christmas Day. It is a model of a cave in Bethlehem with dolls inside. Some people buy it in a shop or at Christmas fairs, while others prefer to make their own.
In Europe, this tradition has never been interrupted, it has been going on for centuries. In Russia, creches were popular before the 1917 revolution, but after that everything changed. Then many traditions and rituals were banned and forgotten for many years. Now the interest in Christmas creche is growing every year and our masters create charming miniatures in anticipation of the bright holiday. The materials used to create the Christmas creche are very diverse - paper, clay, fabrics, felted wool and much more.
Nastya Tomskaya demonstrates a simple and affordable way to make such a house in her masterclass. Let's watch and try to make it again!
