Porcelain. Royal stuff!
White gold.
White gold, as porcelain is called in China. The history of the origin of porcelain goes back millennia, but it is still shrouded in mystery, and in value it really comes close to precious metals.
For a considerable time, the production of porcelain was almost the most important state secret, for the disclosure of which the death penalty was threatened. But this did not diminish the number of those wishing to learn the secret of porcelain. For a long time, European experiments to recreate white gold remained in vain.
Porcelain was first introduced to Europeans by the Italian traveler Marco Polo, who at the end of the 12th century brought home an amazing vase made of unfamiliar white material, which is still kept in the San Marco Treasury in Venice.
The "Great Way" of porcelain.
Since the 14th century, porcelain products have been imported to Europe along the “Great Silk Road”. Then they were worth their weight in gold. Selling it, merchants put gold on one side of the scales, and porcelain on the other, thus balancing their value.
Products that were broken on the way were turned into porcelain beads by enterprising merchants, polishing and stringing fragments of porcelain vases on gold chains.
Naturally, with such a precious course, only royal persons and the richest nobles could have porcelain!
Europeans, worried about such huge costs of buying Chinese porcelain, tried to unravel the secret of its creation and reproduce it in their homeland. But no one has managed to do this to this day. All the recipes known for today are approximate, but absolutely new version of the legendary porcelain from China.
In Europe, its own porcelain composition was developed only in 1708, and in Russia in 1740.
"Eternal" porcelain.
There is such a phrase “Eternity belongs to kings”, and about this unique material one can say so - “Porcelain belongs to eternity”. ...
Porcelain is a very complex material. I believe that he is a living organism that reacts to everything that happens around him. It's not for nothing that the old masters advise not to even start working with porcelain if you are in a bad mood. This will certainly become apparent later on in the process.
But if he accepts you and love becomes mutual, then together you can do truly fantastic things that will be incorruptible, like the names of kings.
And this can take years or even decades.
