Diane Keeler was born in 1950 in Duluth, Minnesota, to a large family. Her parents were always making crafts and were always trying to find something new to do. So they taught their five daughters how to do it. Diane Keeler, never as a child, heard from her parents: "You can't do that". The main rule of her life was to overcome herself and to improve herself all the time.
There was a rich creative life in her family. Diane Keeler enjoyed sewing, weaving, spinning, knitting, leatherwork, jewellery making and working as a hairdresser. Over time, she found her calling in dolls. As soon as she learned something new, she soon lost interest. Diane Keeler still thinks the same way: "It was fun, but then what? "
In 1987, Diane Keeler became interested in miniatures and discovered that she enjoyed working with polymer clay. It was exactly what she had been looking for for so long. She plunged herself into her "new" passion. Even if she had never sculpted new images before, she imagined the faces of the dolls from the very beginning of her work.
