June 15, 2023 at 19.00 Meridian Cultural Centre invites to the opening of the exhibition of author's dolls "The Edge of the Game".
Portrait and abstract dolls, stylised and fantasy dolls, antique porcelain dolls and replicas of wooden dolls from the 17th century, boudoir dolls from the beginning of the 20th century, dolls the size of the palm of your hand and almost a metre high, as well as panels and photographs - all this will be on display in the exhibition hall from 15 June to 9 July. The exhibition "The Edge of Play" introduces the audience to all kinds of popular modern trend in art and creativity - author's dolls.
The exhibition will present all genres and directions of author's dolls by Russian authors working in different techniques: dolls made of traditional materials such as porcelain, wood and papier-mâché, dolls made of modern materials created especially for dollmakers - baked, self-fastening and moulded plastics, dolls made of wool, textile and even metal.
Visitors will be able to learn about the history of the emergence and development of this unusual hobby in Russia, the techniques and methods of creating dolls with their own hands, the materials and tools used, both modern and traditional. And also to see photos of the dolls created by the best masters of the public association "Facets of the Game", which are in private collections in different parts of the world.
