Clementine de Chabaneix: ceramic and mixed media sculptures

Clementine de Chabaneix's mother was an actress and her grandparents were the famous sculptors Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne. She spent a lot of time in her relatives' home and studio, which sparked her interest in creating artefacts and exploring the world of aesthetics. Clementine has always believed, and still believes, that the idea is key and mastery of technique is only a secondary aspect.
After graduating from the Clementine de Chabaneix Theatre School, she enrolled at the Pradier Course in Paris, where she studied drawing and sculpture. She also developed her acting skills and is still active in theatre productions to this day. In addition, she also makes music and writes songs with her partner, a sound engineer, musician and composer.
However, her strong desire to model in raw materials led her to rent her first studio in an abandoned factory in Montreuil. Here Clementine de Chabaneix created pop surrealist figurines in resin and metal, which were successfully exhibited in art galleries in Paris, Rome and Los Angeles.
Eventually, Clementine de Chabaneix decided to purchase an abandoned café in Montreuil, which she restored and turned into her own studio. This space, filled with light and overlooking the neighbourhood, became a source of inspiration for the artist. It was here that she began to create ceramic sculptures in enamelled clay that have great poetic power. Her works are striking in their originality and uniqueness.
In addition to sculptures, Clementine de Chabaneix also creates drawings that accompany her sculptures or serve as preliminary stages in her creative process. Her works are characterised by their subtlety of execution, harmonious forms and profound content.
Clementine de Chabaneix is a shining example of how art can become an integral part of a person's life. Her work is a manifestation of her inner world. Her sculptures and drawings immerse the viewer in the world of aesthetics and provoke reflection on the depth of the human soul.
