Evoking vivid emotions...

Today, in the Modern Masters section, we introduce you to a very interesting author, who masterfully combines realistic sculpture and dynamic puppet movements, Elena Kochurova.
Elena creates bd (articulated) characters. The special feature of these dolls is the harmony between the anatomical movements of the hinges and the realistic image of the Heroes.
Says the master:
- I was born in Moscow. I graduated from an art school and took intensive courses at the Moscow State Stroganov Academy of Design and Applied Art. For several years I practiced drawing models with the artist Pranoto in Indonesia.
- In 2020 I plunged into the world of artistic articulated dolls. Creating from scratch, looking for new images and shapes.
- Creativity has fascinated me since a young age. My interest in different areas of expression led me to the multifaceted, multidisciplinary profession of puppeteering
- Different methods are used: design in 3D programmes, fabrication in different materials (polyamide, photopolymer).
- My favourite line of work is revealing the aesthetics of the male body.
Elena's work is characterised by a love and attention to realism, coloured by bright colours and bold strokes.
By creating artistic articulated dolls, the author maintains his unique style. Skilfully experimenting with the plasticity of the human face and body, he retains classic features and proportions.
An in-depth understanding of the biomechanics of the body, allows the master to achieve impressive results.
Elena's dolls are characterised by perfect hinge mechanics. The perception is enhanced by the characters' striking, elaborate imagery.
The artist does not chase popular trends. Entirely trusting in the power of inspiration, the artist seeks out new forms of expression.
Elena considers her many years' experience of drawing real people, full of bright, unique features and characters, to be the basis of her work. The desire to convey emotion through sculpture, to bring the frame to life is the master's main passion.
The design of the artist's dolls is unique in its own way: with no rigid skeleton, the dolls are so well-balanced that they can stand, sit and assume many human-like postures on their own.
Elena's dolls involve customisation (the ability to change individual sculptural and cosmetic elements: wig, eyes, make-up, change hands and feet, not to mention clothes, shoes and accessories).
Often, together with the author, not only the appearance and clothing of the character is conceived, but also the legend and the story of his life is created.
Elena Kochurova is a regular participant in professional exhibitions and winner of international competitions.
The artist creates Puppets for the creative expression of artists, photographers and fashion designers. Her characters act as companions for those who are close to these beautiful creatures.
Either way, the Helena Dolls can fill life with colour and evoke vivid emotions.
One of my favourite authors.
