Karen Baker was born in California, Redondo Beach. Her parents, very talented people, raised seven children. Mom is a wonderful artist, seamstress and musician, my father was a master carpenter and played great musical instruments.

Living in a large, friendly family, Karen received toys, mainly by "inheritance", hence the desire to remodel and improve them with her own hands.

Karen loved to sew clothes, miniature furniture and accessories for her dolls.

The future artist's childhood was surrounded by a creative atmosphere. She had the opportunity to try her hand at various forms of art.

Love for dolls grew into a passion for modeling. In the beginning there were miniature animals and people made of plasticine. Later, at school, Karen's talents were noticed by the teachers. Painting classes, pastels and an in-depth study of sculpture followed soon after.

The first semester in college helped the artist to decide on the profession of a sculptor.

The turning point in Karen's career came when she met Master Puppeteer Mr. Jack Johnson.

Karen has completed all his professional courses and master's degrees, and has always been the best in the class.

The artist quickly advanced in her craft and soon Jack invited her to teach at his school.

Throughout the school year, Karen conducts specialized classes in the creation of sculptural dolls and puppet miniatures.

• Advanced Annual ProSculpt Awards 2012 1st Place
• Presidential Prize for Professional Puppet Writers, 2012
• He is a member and secretary of the professional art Guild of puppeteers.
• Dolls are in private collections and galleries around the world.

About 10 years ago, upon discovering polymer clay, Karen found her favorite material for the embodiment of her lively and emotional work. The detailing of the characters has become almost perfect.

Karen currently lives in Utah with her husband, son, two cats and a horse.

Karen dolls are realistic and made with great skill. They are cheerful and energetic. Despite the fact that the characters of the artist are rather advanced years, irrepressible mischief and joy of life are inherent in them.
