The archaic universe and the archaic meta-universe.
The 2022 exhibition will go down in human history with a planetary event - a demonstration to the general public of the world's first dolls created by a neural network!
Why is this presentation unique and super-sensational?
We all know that neural networks already write music, play chess, and paint pictures. But it's the creation of a neural network object called a CUCLA. - is much more than an attempt at a creative act, it goes beyond a purely creative act.
A doll is a socio-cultural object that carries both artistic and socially determined meanings. The doll appeared, lived and lives as a unique object at the intersection of art and social phenomena of history, the doll is always a reflection of human nature. And the fact that the first to bring such a doll into our world were not philosophers, sociologists or bioengineers, but artists, is an absolute humanitarian breakthrough into new possibilities of art as a tool of mastering the world and continuation of human genius in the meta universe.
A puppet from time immemorial helped to go beyond the boundaries of human corporeality and look at oneself from the outside; a puppet created by a neural network helps to go beyond the boundaries of human consciousness. The plastic power of generalisations peculiar to puppet objects of human archaic culture is looped by the archaic of artificial intelligence.
Thousands of viewers of the Art of Puppetry exhibition will be the first on planet Earth to see puppets created by a neural network.
This information alone would have been enough to get to the world premiere! But the organisers of the exhibition have traditionally gathered the best artists, designers and craftsmen, whose professional activity is connected with author's, art dolls, collectible Teddy bears and creative toys on the area of 10 thousand square metres in the centre of Moscow.
A special section of the exhibition this year is angel dolls. As never before, the theme of amulets, guardians, protectors from misfortune passed through every heart and artists reflected it in their work. Dmitry Belyaev will present the exposition "Iron Mantras Correct the World" with legendary punk dolls, and Andrey Zhuravlev will illustrate the female archaic image of ancient peoples with a series of sculptures "Mother-Parent". The main character of his collection is Olenikha (Elk), the oldest Slavic goddess of fertility, sky and sunlight, mother, protector and nurturer.
Creative people unite to create goodness and beauty with a message of peace to all! Angels unite to protect us from evil and enmity. As in the old days, people turn to natural forces: the "Attraction" exposition is about the power and energy of driftwood; the "H2O" project is about the mercy of water that washes and washes away; at the "Miraculous" stand, miracle flowers and miracle animals from ancient lullabies materialise; and in the "Another Dimension" project, you can even... read the hare's fortune! The Aposteriori, a series of totem animals that appear at birth to each child to accompany and protect him or her throughout life as a visible part of the soul, will continue the link between times.
The archaic theme is continued by Yulia Ralnikova, Larisa Talysheva and Tatiana Kuraeva in the exhibition Phantasmagoria of the Russian Soul. Inspired by old fairy tales, songs, dances and philosophical studies of the mysterious Russian soul, the artists expressed its multifacetedness, originality, independence, breadth and beauty through the art of piling up images, visions and fantasy. The dolls will show us a dream, in which the subconscious puts sensual experience into visual objects. The cultural code of traditional rituals, their mystery and reticence, materialised non-verbal - we have never seen such dolls before.
The theme of New Year's Eve mysteries is continued by the Scarlet Rose project: their puppets are images of legendary literary characters, including Casanova, the Phantom of the Opera, Count Dracula, Beauty and the Beast, and Crimson Peak under candelabras among draperies of cherry velvet.
Artists Evgenia Egorova, Anna Loginova and Margarita Dadykina invite the audience to explore "Shakespeare's Passion" based on the famous plays of the brightest heat. Shakespeare's characters always go to extremes, and in the works boil no-nonsense passions, the very Shakespearean. What could be more interesting for an artist than to look around him hundreds of years after the appearance of Shakespeare's plays and recognise the images he created in his own environment?
And then, after Shakespeare, we recommend the viewer to follow Anna Pereverzeva's exposition "The Queens of England". Her heroines are two women whose destinies were influenced by England and the throne: Victoria and Elizabeth. The project is interesting not only for the artistic excursion into the history of Britain, but also for the story about their purely female influence on the life of the English. On the example of Victoria you will learn the history of English lace, the development and glorification of which she personally contributed to. The story of Elizabeth II will be told through the story of the creation of her coronation dress, which is a museum masterpiece and full of deep meaning.
Another thematic research art project is dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Teddy Bear. Together with the artists, it is being prepared by experts from the Darwin Museum - a fascinating history of the relationship between Homo sapiens and the bear from real cave animals to modern designer interpretations of this image in toys, clothes, and interiors.
And what New Year is New Year without traditional characters! This time the artists will present not only popular Father Frosts and Snow Maidens, but also other folk characters associated with the change of the year and ancient rituals: Lubavas, Hares, Kozuli...A great reason to acquaint children with the deep history of their country and buy gifts with meaning.
For three days in the centre of Moscow, in the huge hall of the Gostiny Dvor, thousands of dolls will be waiting for the audience: from delicate porcelain, from mighty wood, from plastic, textile and paper.
During the year hundreds of authors have been preparing their new collections of beautiful dolls in various genres and styles: Barbie, ethnic, powerful punk dolls, exquisite classical ladies of all epochs and civilisations, static and mobile, maximally realistic and extremely abstract. You will also be able to buy unique handmade gifts, limited editions of cotton and glass Christmas tree toys, favourite endlessly touching Teddy bears and fantasy creative characters.
The exhibition is aimed at a wide range of viewers, families with children of all ages.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at artkukla.rf.
